Music Management

Daisuke Tanabe

Japanese producer Daisuke Tanabe started making music in his childhood. In his mid 20s he went to London to study Art, specialising in sculptures. During this time making music was still his passion, and it was at the CDR parties when his music was finally discovered by Tony Nwachukwu who put his track "Sand Hill" on the first CDR release. After that Daisuke had the chance to release his music from several different labels and was also nominated for the Gilles Peterson "All Winners" Award 2006.

Daisuke Tanabe’s music is very playful and atmospheric at the same time. Inspired by his surroundings; he is taking all kinds of environmental sounds to express himself throughout his tracks.
Daisuke Tanabe’s new EP ‘After Few Layers Before’ is out on limited edition 7-inch vinyl with stunning artwork, and is a collection of new works steeped in his unique experimental, downtempo-electronica soundscapes, resonating with hypnotic, blurred beats.

Tanabe has steadily built up a reputation as a fast rising talent with his unique production style that has also seen him lay down classic remixes for acts including Elizabeth Shepherd, Elan Mehler, Little Dragon, Yellowtail, Paradise Found, Aaron Jerome and Amycanbe.

After Few Layers Before features Daisuke Tanabe’s finest solo productions yet. Gliding through deep downtempo electronica soundscapes, and laced with progressive experimentalism. The tracks highlight the breadth of his production talents and looks set to further establish him as a heavyweight producer.

Available through Dancing Turtle as a limited edition double 7-inch vinyl EP in gatefold sleeves, with original artwork, After Few Layers Before brings together concepts of music and art, making it a powerful force of creative expression on many levels.
